Well, starting tomorrow big Brother has decided to crack down on all non work related websites or searches. So.... as a result I won't be seeing you much as I don't get on as much at home and most of you are in bed by then anyway. I realize some may be delighted but to the rest of you I consider frineds I'll see you around, just not as much.

What have you done for me, eh?

That's not fair. You're the lesser for it. Do you read anything or just watch Monty Python re-runs? How many PHDs do you have? How many jobs? Well, okay, that's not fair--just answer my first three questions since I cooperated with you, k? Then we can be friends.

Well thanks for the outstanding support! Much better than my tweety bird. And, like you, I love MPython, and was responding to quickly or I would have gotten it right...damn.

There are lots to choose from, as they covered in the show, and of course, I just stole most of my quotes from him/there in my few posts about him today...100th Merid was the first of his, and my fav, but that has a lot to do with being a desert rat myself. I knew a fair bit about him, but hadn't realized til the show how many folks he influenced.

Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed that program.

More important than irregular's very unwitty use of MPython, is the shabby treatment of JOTS post.
Good luck JOTS, throw in a bone when ya can.

Thanks for the Stegner input. One of his Collected stories look good to start with. Arid Lands looks intersting, Id like to know more about Powell. I miss the desert. I used to hike the Superstitions alot as a teenager.

Turdus Migratorius was the first scientific, taxonomy, bird name I learned from grandpa. So funny to a little boy made it easy to remember. I only remember a couple dozen scientific names these days.

We love the name too. It fits her very well. High metabolism and eats well. No Phoebe's in these parts (NW Ca.) Great abundance of water fowl though, my main avian interest. Funny thing, I have noticed women like the Phoebe name more than men. We seem to be the exception.
Have a great weekend.

OK, too long between responses so I assume you are busy using "wiki" to come up with answers.

In all seriousness, though, my response was entirely sincere. I think that Abbey, McCarthy and Maclean are three very important American authors (sorry, Rob! We'll let you tell us about yours!), and the answers to those three questions are significant.

For Abbey, it is THE conservation question concerning what you do with waste in the consumerist society...For the Judge, it is nonsensical, as he was amaterialistic, and answer would be, "he doesn't care", so merely a device to reference that work of art while tying it into Wallace Stegner, an even more important author, via the title of Blood Meridian, one of Dire's favs...last, for Young Men and Fire, it is about a host of things, conservation related and not, but mostly, it is about brotherhood, and what we share here at the Forum. Right? Chris?

Actually, I worked in network security for a long time. I have always hated the concept of content management. There are always work-arounds, but you'd need some engineering, and a personal proxy server, but still, if they're looking over your shoulder, then what can you do?

Sorry, brother.
